THE PSYCHIATRIST seems to have links with organised crime
DOUG may or may not be guilty, and may or may not remember
THE DETECTIVE is pulled from the case, is put on sick leave for 'stress'

THAT could be a story in itself

BUT..........,

DOUG escapes from the hospital (so we're told)
THE PSYCHIATRIST ends his own life (according to the papers)


One can't help but think that there's something missing here,
that we're not being told the entire story...

DOUG-

'THE ONLY EVIDENCE I HAVE THAT ANY CRIME WAS EVEN COMMITTED WAS THAT YOU TELL ME SO, DETECTIVE.

LIKEWISE, THE ONLY EVIDENCE YOU HAVE IS THAT WHICH OTHERS HAVE SHOWN YOU.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THERE EVEN WAS ANY MONEY?

HOW DO I KNOW I'M NOT MAD AND JUST IMAGINING THIS ALL?

HEY, HOLD ON- APPARENTLY I AM MAD.

I MUST BE- THAT'S WHAT 'THEY' TOLD ME....!'   :)   HA HA HA

 Fantastic stories need to make logical sense just like any other story; in fact, they need to do it more, to help us be part of their world. One could argue that it’s your responsibility as a READER/HUMAN (delete as appropriate) to figure out what level of realism you can live with — suspension of disbelief is the one aspect of storytelling that hinges on the audience’s participation.



THE PSYCHIATRIST-

'Think of it as if your life's a puzzle that's been jumbled up.
All the pieces are still there, you just have to put them back together, fit them in the right order and place.
And honestly Doug, I love a good puzzle.'



MOST OF THE TIME WITH MY PATIENTS, I FEEL LIKE I'M TREATING NONSENSE WITH NONSENSE!

A GIRL TURNED UP DEAD,
BELIEVED (BY THE DETECTIVE) TO BE
THE PRETTY MISSING GIRL FROM THE ROBBERY.

BUT WAS THERE EVEN A ROBBERY?
IF SO, WAS THE GIRL INVOLVED,
OR WAS SHE JUST 'MISS DIRECTION'???!!!   :)   HA HA HA

DOES ANYONE EVEN CARE?!
